Hudson Valley Thermal Windows Help the Environment

hudson valley thermal windows

Amid a constant barrage of news on global warming and the deteriorating environment, Hudson Valley homeowners can do their part with Saturn 360 thermal windows from Vinyl Tech.

The Saturn 360 sports insulated glass, which is a glazing unit consisting of two or more panes spaced apart with air gap of at least 7/8 of an inch thick. This greatly helps lower the heat transferred through the glass and significantly reduces sound transmission from one surface to another.

The Saturn 360s low-E glass has low emissive coatings and is designed to reduce the heat transfer caused by long-wave radiation on clear glass. This type of glass thus allows light to enter while also providing thermal insulation.

Although the current environmental problems are alarming, there are many ways to help rectify the situation. Hudson Valley residents are becoming more aware of the issues and the Saturn 360 thermal window helps save energy while saving money.

The green movement is gaining ground across the globe and you can do your part with Hudson Valley thermal windows from Vinyl Tech.

Orange County Home Remodeling with the Saturn 360

orange county home remodeling

"Orange County home remodeling projects are booming and homeowners are going crazy with replacement windows," says Vinyl Tech's Marketing Manager- Jeff Moretti.

According to a recent study of homeowners asked about energy conservation, more than 50% of all respondents believe window replacement is "very important."

Vinyl Tech has a new brand of thermal replacement windows, named: Saturn 360, designed for installation into any home's existing window frames, no matter what the brand of the original window was. This means that the impact to the exterior of the home is negligible. The Saturn 360 replacement windows are perfect for home with brick or stucco exteriors. Because the Saturn 360's fit into existing openings, the process is simpler, quicker and less damaging to a home's structure.

"Some people are intimidated by the thought of replacing wood windows because they think the project will be too stressful and time consuming," says Jeff Moretti. "This does not have to be the case if homeowners choose Vinyl Tech's Saturn 360 replacement window. They are fully insulated, offering energy efficiency and a great, lifetime, warranty."

Creating a more energy efficient home is a priority to Orange County homeowners. In fact, according to a recent survey, twenty-three percent of respondents reported their windows as drafty and inefficient. That equates to nearly thirteen million homes in the USA that are reportedly wasting energy resources.

Vinyl Tech can help Hudson Valley homeowners with their remodeling needs.

Hudson Valley, New York Home Improvement Company Unveils Own Brand of Thermal Windows

thermal windowsPoughkeepsie home improvement company, Vinyl Tech, unveils the Saturn 360 thermal replacement window. The addition of the Saturn 360 line of thermal replacement windows means that Vinyl Tech is now the Hudson Valley’s complete home improvement contractor.

Thermal replacement windows are different from traditional, single-paned, windows in that they allow far less heat to escape the home in the winter and conserve air conditioning during the summer. Windows and doors are usually responsible for about 40% of a home's energy loss. Thermal windows are up to 4X more efficient than traditional single pane windows.

Company President, Ms. Damary Kiefer, says: “For years Vinyl Tech has been the Hudson Valley’s premier sunroom, solarium and conservatory installation contractor. Thermal windows are a natural extension of our value proposition for New York homeowners. With the rising cost of energy, Vinyl Tech wanted to offer homeowners a complete home improvement, energy-saving, solution.”

The Saturn 360 thermal window comes in a complete line of double hung, two and three way sliders, casement, awning, picture, bow, bay, garden and specialty replacement windows. By replacing a home’s single-pane windows with Saturn 360 thermal replacements, a Hudson Valley home owner can expect a savings of up to 30% off their winter fuel bill. Combining this with a Vinyl Tech sunroom addition creates the ultimate, energy-saving, solution while adding quality square footage.

Vinyl Tech’s Saturn 360 thermal replacement windows are made of outstanding, heavy-duty .070 thick vinyl wall construction for superior strength, and are guaranteed to never pit, corrode, peel, dent, or rust. They never need painting or puttying. They feature an exclusive triple seal sash weather-stripping that minimizes air infiltration. They feature insulated glass panes that are a full 7/8” thick to achieve outstanding thermal performance while significantly reducing sound infiltration. The insulation and seal between panes is guaranteed for the life of the home.

Options include Low E glass, which may be combined with an argon filling between panes to significantly reduce heat and sound transfer. Other options are available including decorative grids in either flat or contoured profiles, and Princess Art Glass, which beautifully incorporates polished brass caming, prism-like glass bevels, and “old-world” cracked glass for a truly distinctive look. There are several styles and finishes available. All windows come with patented internal tilt release hardware for easy cleaning and operation.

Vinyl Tech offers free, in home, design consultations for homeowners in Ulster, Dutchess, Putnam, Orange, Westchester, Rockland, Columbia, Greene & Sullivan County, New York State. Go here to learn more:

Installing Your Orange County Sunroom - Tips

Orange County sunroom
Your Vinyl Tech sun room is great for entertaining, relaxing and adding value to your home. The National Association of the Remodeling Industry estimates that sun rooms return at resale more than seventy percent of the initial investment to the homeowner.

Sunrooms are usually one-hundred to two-hundred sq. ft. enclosures added onto an existing home. They can be made of both single-pane or thermal pane glass. Both types sport windows that can be opened to let fresh breezes in and shut to keep out the elements.

Your Orange County Sunroom from Vinyl Tech comes in a multitude of styles and roof designs. Sunrooms provide a sensation of being outdoors while allowing the homeowner to enjoy the comforts of home. Some of our Orange County sunrooms make the perfect spot for a spa, complete with a hot tub, or breakfast nook. Other uses include entertaining friends and family and providing extra space for exercise or relaxing, giving you a much-needed home office or studio, or simply a tranquil spot to unwind with a glass of wine.

Before buying, determine how you'll utilize your Orange County home improvement sunroom addition. Year-round use likely will require supplemental heating and cooling as well as double-pane, low-e glass for optimal energy-efficiency. Our Orange County sunrooms usually can be constructed very quickly and may be built over existing decks, insulated deck floors or other structures.

Vinyl Tech Sunrooms often can be constructed where conventional additions can't because of building codes and zoning ordinances. A Vinyl Tech Orange County sun room often isn't considered a square-footage addition to your home; it's considered a patio enclosure. Additionally, a sunroom, solarium or conservatory can also can add living space in an area where there underground obstacles prevent construction.

Hudson Valley Home Improvement Loans

hudson valley home improvementHome improvement, or home remodeling, is the process of renovating or making additions to one's home. Often, a professional contractor is hired to perform the job but, typically, most home remodeling is done by the homeowner. Looking at the cost of most remodeling jobs, the homeowner might find it difficult to proceed without borrowing money. Most financial institutions offer something called a Home Improvement Loan.

Home improvement loans come in two types:
Secured
Unsecured

A secured home improvement loan is usually secured by the existing equity in the home. Most home improvement loans are of the secured variety. The larger ones, like adding a sunroom addition, upgrading the kitchen, or finishing the basement into a living space usually need a secured loan.

The other option is an unsecured loan, much like adding to your credit card debt. Unsecured loans are not "attached" to anything. You are simply borrowing on the strength of your credit rating. These types of loans are most likely utilized for smaller jobs.

Vinyl Tech is the premier Hudson Valley home improvement contractor. What is more, we are experts in helping homeowners get the right Hudson Valley home remodeling loan. Our Representatives will sit with you and carefully go over all the options and different packages with you. We will help you match the right Hudson Valley home improvement loan with your remodeling job. That's what we offer; a complete home remodeling solution for our customers.

Fairgoers Talk About Their Orange County Home Remodeling Ideas

Orange County home remodeling
Summertime is fair season, and I just spent the last few days out at the Orange County Fair speaking with homeowners about their Orange County home remodeling ideas. Many expressed interest in an Orange County sunroom project. Some wanted to enclose existing porches to turn them into an Orange County three season room. Some expressed interest in an Orange County four season room. Still other folks just wanted to add an Orange County patio enclosure, while others wanted to add an Orange County conservatory to their existing deck. Whatever Orange County home improvement project they had in mind they all had the same desire; to improve their lives by bringing the outdoors inside where they could be protected from the weather and bugs.

Knowing that I help fulfill peoples dreams is one of the things I like best about my job. I have had many satisfied customers come back and tell me about how much they love their Hudson Valley backyard enclosures. They keep reaffirming what I've known all along. There has never a better time to get a free estimate from your local Hudson Valley home improvement company. See you at the fair.

Women Are Taking the Lead in New York Home Improvement

NY sunrooms, Rockland County home remodeling, Dutchess County home improvement, Ulster County home improvement, New York home improvement industry
In an industry that has been run primarily by men for centuries, women are making their stand in the New York home improvement industry. Damary Kiefer, owner of Vinyl Tech, a Hudson Valley home improvement company that specializes in NY sunrooms since 1992, is a prime example of the growing number of women owners in the busy New York home remodeling industry. According to Damary, "Women have long been the decision makers in the purchase of our products, but these days, they are not only making the purchases, but they are also selling those products and building the Dutchess County home improvement projects themselves".

According to the Home Improvement Research Institute. within the first year of home ownership, women will authorize, on average, about $9,000 for Westchester County home improvement projects. Women have become a major marketing demographic for Ulster County home remodeling companies.

Women owners are becoming more and more prevalent in the Columbia County home improvement industry as well. Damary says, "Women tend to be a bit more comfortable doing business with other women. They find our company a tad more sympathetic to their needs and desires. While the men seem to be more interested in size, and materials, I have no problem at all discussing textures, colors and fabrics with the women". According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, women now make up over 12% of the construction industry, and the trend appears to be growing.

The next time you consider a Hudson Valley backyard enclosure consider doing business with a respected, licensed, capable, Rockland County home remodeling company that is owned by a woman.

Thermal Windows Make the Difference in your New York Sunroom

thermal windows, New York sunroom, Dutchess County home improvment, low e glass, Orange County sunroom, Rockland County sunroom
This past week was so very hot and humid. For those of us lucky enough to have our own New York sunroom to retreat to, the heat and humidity was barely noticable. My wife and I spent the whole weekend enjoying the outdoors from inside the comfort of our Dutchess County home improvement project. Sipping an iced tea, my wife remarked how comfortable the temperature was inside our NY sunroom despite the soaring temperatures outside and our lack of air conditioning. I mentioned that we had bought the best energy star rated, double insulated, low e glass, thermal windows available, and that they were keeping the heat at bay even as our neighbors were sweltering in their backyards.

My neighbor Bob stopped by and mentioned that he was looking into doing his own Dutchess County home remodeling project. He found it amazing that our Orange County sunroom was so cool, even during the hottest part of the day. We referred him to our own Ulster County home improvement company, and he called them for a free estimate.

Why put up with bugs, air pollution, and extreme outdoor temperatures anymore? Isn't it time you provided your family with the very best in life? Make the call today. The sooner you buy your own Rockland County sunroom the sooner you can excape the heat in your own New York Conservatory.

Summer is a Great Time for a Hudson Valley Home Improvement Project

Hudson Valley home improvement, sunroom windows, Ny conservatory, Putnam County home improvement, Low e glass
As the summer days heat up I am hearing from our past customers how much they are appreciating their Hudson Valley home improvement projects. A New York sunroom is the perfect place to sit back with an iced beverage and just relax in the coolness of the NY conservatory, while watching your neighbors sweat the heat on the other side of the insulated, Low E, argon filled New York sunroom windows that filter out 84% of the sun's harmful uv rays.

Bill Holsapple of Putnam County says, "We enjoy the Putnam County home improvement project pretty much all year round, but the summer days beat them all. We love the outdoors, but when it gets so hot that you can fry an egg on the sidewalk, the Putnam County conservatory is the place to be. Cool and comfortable, that's the ticket!"

Enjoying New Life in My Dutchess County Home Improvement Project

New York sunroom, Dutchess County home improvement, Hudson Valley home improvement, Westchester County sunroom
Yesterday was one of the most important days of my life. It was the day my grandson was born. He is my first grandchild, and I can't begin to describe the feelings of elation and sheer joy that have filled me since his birth. When I think of his future visits, my visions are defined by his scooting around the Dutchess County home improvement project that we had installed several years ago.

Our Westchester County sunroom is the perfect place for him to play. Free from bugs, harsh weather, wandering animals, and other intruders, we can let him enjoy the outdoors from inside the protection provided by our Hudson Valley home improvement project. Just the mere thought of playing with my new grandson inside our New York sunroom is making me smile. Like the old McDonald's jingle says, "BaDaBaBaDa, I'm Lovin It!"

Should I Buy a Dutchess County Three Season Room or a Four Season Room?

NY sunroom, Orange County three season room, Sullivan County home addition, Ulster County three season sunroom, Hudson Valley three season sunroom
I was out at the Stormville flea market this weekend, and constantly got asked about the difference between a Dutchess County three season room addition and a Westchester County four season room. While many folks expressed an interest in a Putnam County four season sunroom, I found that they really didn't understand how a Columbia County three season room works. Many people were under the impression that they wouldn't be able to use a Greene County three season sunroom in the wintertime. They were suprised to hear that an Ulster County three season sunroom can actually be used year round with the addition of an independent heating source, like a pellet stove, radiant heat floor, or space heater. The Sullivan County home addition is extremely well insulated, and well able to retain heat in the winter. A four season sunroom is really a full home addition that is assessed as a home addition for tax purposes, while an Orange County three season room is viewed as a backyard patio enclosure, and taxed at a much lower rate. When they understood the benefits that a Hudson Valley three season sunroom has to offer, most agreed that this was the sort of NY sunroom they really wanted to buy.

Residents are Finding Many Ways to Enjoy Their Westchester County Home Improvement Projects

Westchester County home improvement, Westchester County backyard enclosure, New York sunroom, Hudson Valley home improvement company
Everyone enjoys sitting on the porch sipping a nice cold iced tea and watching the world go by. Until, of course, some nasty wasp, mosquito, or yellow jacket starts to harass us. Yonkers resident Shelly Pollock found the answer to those problems by having a Hudson Valley home improvment company come and build a beautiful Westchester County backyard enclosure on her existing deck.

"We no longer are victims of those annoying bugs", says Shelly. "Since we had the New York sunroom built on our deck we don't feel like victims in our own yard!" "Even bad weather doesn't affect us anymore. If we feel like eating al fresco, we dine in our sunroom. It brings the outdoors inside, cool, comfortable, and best of all, bug free."

Consider adding a beautiful Westchester County home improvement project to your life. Isn't now the best time to build your dreams?

Rogue Rockland County Home Improvement Contractors Might Lose Tools

rockland county home improvement, westchester county home improvement, putnam county home improvementRockland County Official, Ed Day, is seeking to give authorities the juice to impound the tools and vehicles of "rogue" Rockland County home improvement contractors. Mr. Day says this is like taking away a burglar's tools.

Mr. Day's idea seems to be a good one. But right now, there's an effective way for Lower Hudson Valley homeowners to protect their rights; only hire fully licensed and registered Rockland County home improvement contractors, like Vinyl Tech.

To help accomplish that, Lower Hudson Valley homeowners should consult each county's Department of Consumer Protection. They issue Westchester County Home Improvement & Rockland County Home Improvement Licenses. For Putnam, they register all Putnam County home improvement contractors.

This is the most basic element of doing Hudson Valley home improvement contractor due diligence.

To become County Certified, a Hudson Valley home improvement contractor must meet certain criteria. "A license shows they have proved they not only have adequate insurance, but the appropriate kind," said Terry Grosselfinger, Rockland’s director of consumer protection.

"Doing business with a County Licensed Hudson Valley home improvement contractor doesn't guarantee satisfaction", Grosselfinger says, "but if a dispute arises, a homeowner has much more recourse; a complaint could jeopardize the status of a license."

Homeowners are Enjoying the Increased Space and Light from their Putnam County Home Improvement Projects

Ny sun room, Putnam County solarium, New York conservatory, As a result of the news by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, last week, that homeowners, on average, are enjoying over 70% return on their investment upon resale, many Putnam County home improvement projects are now involving NY sunroom additions. This is added incentive for any homeowner to build that New York conservatory that they've been dreaming of for years.

"When people shop for a home, they want to get the biggest bang for their buck", says John Field, CFO of a major Dutchess County home improvement company. "It only stands to reason that they will choose to invest in a house that has more extras. A house with a beautiful Putnam County solarium has much more appeal than one without, and buyers understand that they must pay a premium for such a home".

Beauty, comfort, and protection against bugs and weather were all great reasons to invest in a NY sun room before, but, add on the huge return on investment, and we see that there's never been a better time to call your local home improvement company and see what your neighbors are all talking about.

Making Your Next Westchester County Home Improvement Project a Sunroom Can Bring Huge Return on Your Investment

Westchester County home improvement, New York home improvement financing, Dutchess County home improvement, Hudson Valley home improvement, westcheste County backyard enclosure, New York patio enclosure, four season sunroomGreat news for homeowners! The National Association of the Remodeling Industry has estimated that a Westchester County home improvement project that adds a sunroom to your house returns an average of more than 70% of the homeowners initial investment on resale. This is a national average, and could bring even more in our Hudson Valley home improvement market.

When choosing projects, such as sunroom additions, a homeowner is faced with such challenges as New York home improvement financing. With such a high return on investment, some Dutchess County home improvement companies have found many banks willing to finance as much as 100% of the Westchester County backyard enclosure cost.

Since the three or four season sunroom is considered a New York patio enclosure, not a home addition, there are tax benefits that are realized as well. There is no better time to contact your local home improvement specialist for more information.
